Biking for Deaf Education
This trip will also be special because it provides an opportunity to support one our other passions – Metro Deaf School – MN North Star Academy, a charter school providing education for deaf and hard of hearing students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Mary is the current chair of the Charter School Board. Our educational philosophy of the school is to provide a bilingual approach to deaf education by focusing on American Sign Language (ASL) and written English and as means for communication. The school has been in existence since 1993 and is the only K-12 charter school for the deaf in the United States. We currently have ~ 100 students. www.metrodeafschool.org
